7 Weeks Old Today

Riley's colic has only gotten worse in the last week. The only way to describe it is to say that it's like having a person in your home who is being tortured for about 4 hours per day. Fingernails getting ripped out, or something brutal like that. Imagine the screaming: the volume, the fierceness. Now, imagine that the tortured person is your son. Yeah, it's bad. Poor little guy. BUT, he's also delighting us with an occasional "good hour", a smile, or even a giggle. Sometimes it seems like he's trying to contain the cry, as if he wants to remain happy, and he gets a pouty look on his face and says "owwwwwwwww... ooooooohhhh.... owowowowww." It's so sad.

Miserable for him and emotionally draining for mom and dad! Tough stuff! Hang in there!

Poor little man. Hang in there, we went through it. It does come to an end.

Poor Riley! Poor Mommy and Daddy! That has to be completely unnerving. I wish we were closer and could help somehow (no idea how though...just weather the crying with you, I suppose).

Aleya's comments as I scrolled down through the pictures:
"Oh he's sad. He's happy! He's mad. Oh, he's sad. He's happy! Ahh, cousin Riley."

Did she just summarize your daily emotional roller coaster ride?
