Some updates and milestones

1. Riley has learned to "pull himself up", from sitting to standing upright, while grabbing onto an object such as a couch or a parent's leg. Once he's standing up, he looks down at his legs and marvels at his accomplishment. We're toddler-proofing the house.

2. The report from the church nursery each week is that Riley simply sits in one place the whole time, shaking not one but two maracas the entire length of the service. Note to self: Buy the kid some musical instruments soon.

3. The helmet doctor says Riley's head shape is correcting rapidly. We can notice a big difference too, during the 1hr/day when we see him without it.

4. Also in church, when we bring him into the sanctuary for the Eucharist, he enjoys finding a person in a nearby pew and smiling broadly at him or her until the smile is reciprocated. It's quite distracting to the folks sitting around us, but delightful too.

5. He's had a cold for about 2 weeks.

6. Most of the time, his crawl looks much more like an army crawl than the knees-and-hands crawl he's capable of.
